Why did my ex add me on Snapchat and then deny it?

My ex added me on Snapchat yesterday and I asked him why. He said he didn’t when I literally have a screenshot of him doing so. Why lie about it?

There could be a few possible reasons why your ex added you on Snapchat and then denied it:

- He might be feeling confused about your breakup and regret losing contact with you. Adding you was a way to reconnect, but then got scared or unsure so denied it.

- He could be testing the waters to see if you'd be open to talking again without fully committing. Backtracking let him play it off casual.

- Possibly he's seeing someone new and didn't want it getting back to them that he reached out. Easier to deny than explain.

- Could be he just misses the attention/validation from you even if he doesn't want to fully get back together. Denying it maintains distance.

- There's a chance he was drunk or acting on impulse when adding you, then sober lied about it out of embarrassment.

- He may actually have forgot he added you in a moment of weakness or bad judgment call haha. Some guys are that foolish.

At the end of the day, dont stress too much about his denial or motives. You're better off just continuing on without him. If he pulls any other shady moves feel free to call him out on it though!
