Why did my ex glare at me and my best guy friend?

So today before our play practice my best guy friend and I were sitting behind our curtains and we were talking about my new crush and we just go from that to what we were wearing My best guy friend said "I'm wearing ladies underwear~" in a really abnormal voice. I started laughing because I never expected that from him. Well, as we were laughing, my ex was walking towards us (to get a prop) and he was just glaring at my friend. We didn't really think much of it until he wouldn't stop watching him. Like, every time my friend was in eye range, he'd just watch him like a hawk, especially when I was sitting with him after practice. I wasn't the only one who noticed because my friend said he noticed it too.

Why would he watch my best guy friend?

haha He was giving him the look "What is about him that makes her laugh so much. I'm so better than him. I hate the guy." This is pretty much it. See, ex's find a hard time accepting the fact that you are doing so good without them. He wants to see you miserable and sad without being with him. It gives him an ego boost if he knew that the only happy moments of your life was with being with him and only him. That he's the source of your happiness and that you couldn't survive oneday without thinking about him and how much you miss him. When he saw you laughing, joking and having a good time he didn't feel at ease. He was checking the guy out to see what about him is really THAT good. ;)
