My ex-girlfriend said she wants to explore life and re-explore our relationship later how should I take this?

We dated for almost a year. I love her so much and when she said this to me I was shocked. I thought we had a good thing. But she told me that she hates being tied down. She feels like this would be best for us and our relationship. I just really want her back. I'm doing what my friends said and that is to give her space time and not talk to her let her realize that she lost something really good from her life. Should I keep doing this and in like a few months talk to her or let her come to me?

She did also say that she wants to explore life while she can. And that we should re-explore our relationship in a year or two. I feel like I am reading to much in to it, I really don't know what to do anymore.

I feel like this is not something that a girl who was still in love with someone would do. She may feel like she has lost interest in you or the relationship, or maybe she honestly is just tired of being committed. A girl who does this doesn't deserve a man who still loves her. You are better than her. Honestly, you should move on and find who you are without her. It will give you a better confidence than you have ever had before and can really help you understand if you still love her or the idea of her. You will find someone better who won't do this to you because they want to be committed to you, not just a come-and-go feeling of love, but honest love:)

i think you should just do your own thing and focus on you. it isn't fair for her to expect you to be waiting for her after she explore life. sounds like she is trying to use you as a back up in case who ever or what ever she is after lets her down. well, if you are willing to wait for her then you should. if it was me I would not talk to her unless she talked to me. since she wants to explore then you should let her come back to you once she finished

Your friends are spot on. Your girl said to you, in a very nice way, that she's interested in meeting other men. Keep up the NC. If she has something to say, she can come to you with it. If you chase her you only lose her respect right now, because she asked for space, it would make you look weak and needy. If she doesn't come back she doesn't deserve you anyway. If she wanted to be with other men she shouldn't have jumped into a relationship.
