I went through pretty much the same thing with a girl a few years ago also at work but we'd actually been dating a bit.
The reason why she's doing this isn't to hurt you or even has anything to do with you at all. It's simply that she is an attention seeker. She's loving the attention she's getting from everyone because of the lies she's told about you. She's a horrible selfish person and she doesn't deserve you worrying about what's actually happening.
As for all that crap it'll blow over and people will quickly forget about it. In fact if it goes anything like it did with me if you bump into her outside of work she will probably be really friendly and you'll get to bang her then ignore her lying ass.

This is exactly why guys shouldn't generalize women and visa versa. You have your junky girls like the one in this article and then you have women who take the time out of their day to write nice responses such as this one. The differences from woman to woman can be night and day. So to lump them together and say they are all alike is way off. For people in the OP's situation I'd compare finding someone to digging through a bag full of jelly beans with a 100 different flavors. The first jelly bean you pick out of the bag might be disgusting, and you might not like that second flavor as it is too sour or third one as it is too sweet and so on.. But if you keep picking you may just come across that ideal flavor, that will leave a good taste in your mouth.

You will find her... but not in the workplace. Stay away from women there. Hold your head high, love YOURSELF, and be strong. And... be patient. Your time will come and this will all be a bad dream. Do NOT let the nice man inside you die... we need more men like YOU! To hell with those people at work. WHO are THEY? Why is their opinion more important than your OWN? My honest opinion, women ain't worth the effort anymore. I left dating 3 years ago and life has never been sweeter. Unfortunately we were born with this curse to be easily seduced by women and it is damn difficult to NOT notice a pretty women... but hey such is life. I have my master and a great career, plus i have good guy friends and we travel and play sport together and have an awesome time experiencing life. Sometimes the loneliness gets to you, but i'm reminded that women just don't care about men... so i'd say ENJOY YOUR LIFE and forget them.

Absolutely not. Even when I said "Hello" to her that morning before I knew everything that happened, she seemed perfectly fine and was even smiling at me. I legitimately believe that she is psychotic or something. She is only 17 going on 18, so maybe it is hormones or something.

I suggest finding a therapist and talking to them about your anger at the matriarchy. Talk therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy worked wonders with my depression and social anxiety, and having an outside opinion as to whether or not you're transgressing boundaries is extremely helpful if you're struggling with how to approach women you're attracted to.
