Uglyness is subjective. Just because someone doesn't like how you look doesn't mean the next girl is not. They want a "bad boy" because they are immature.
It's kind of both. A lot of girls can find the same guy attractive, while also finding a different guy unattractive. It's universal yet subjective at the same time.
