+1 yIf you want to go extreme; a woman could have the most beautiful face the world has ever seen but if she looks like a ham joint, has cottage cheese thighs and a serious case of cellulite around her giant mass. Men (who aren't fat fetishists) will always pick a butter face with a 10 body.
Now if you picn thin toned butterface, against an overweight (10-15lbs over) woman with a gorgeous face then you'd have a more even split.
But since you didn't specify how either person looked other than "A pretty face or a hot/nice body?" I decided I would answer both possibilities.00 Reply

Ooh, I finally get why he's so popular! I don't care that they are bigger than mine lol nom nom nom - +1 y
Well, he is kind of a butterface. So I never felt like watching his movies. He's like the upper end of my prefered muscularity spectrum.

+1 yI voted body, but I'll give my standard answer which is:
10 face 8 body is better than 8 face 10 body.
7 body 4 face is better than 4 body 7 face.
Basically, it's most important to have an 'okay' body that's basically sexually attractive. Once you're body is desirable, face matters more. Given the average westerner by age 30 is looking like a small whale, even below average looking people who take reasonable, though not obsessive, care of their body and groom well can be above average looking compared to their age-group peers.26 Reply- +1 y
I think both 7 face and 4 body/4 face 7 body are equally undesirable. Well i dont know what you see as a 4 but for me thats just not good. For me both have to be somewhat attractive ie 5 or better. Girls with an ok body are a dime a dozen. It just takes a certain level of diet/exercise. It's facial aesthetics that makes the difference.
- +1 y
The average American woman is 5'4" and outweighs me.
Now it may be that our idea of 'decent body' is different, but I suspect you're thinking 'average' as in 'average reasonably in shape 20 year old'. They are common (but so are cute faces) and really, yes, all it takes is a certain level of diet/exercise. However most people do not put that level of effort in.
I guess as I've gotten older, I've realized a beautiful face is less important to me than personality, but that 'little bit of diet/exercise' does matter quite a bit. Great personality + that bit of effort to have an ok body I can work with, and would take for sure over a pretty face but body gone to hell. - +1 y

I get what you're saying but Facial aesthetics are set in stone, there's not much you can do about it. But body aesthetics are much more easily changed. A girl with a 4 body can go to a 6/7 body depending on her underlying bone structure but generally I don't think a 4 face can go to a 6/7. Extremes are bad in both cases, and if her body is "gone to hell" her face probably won't look to good either. I think ideally face and body should be at least 5 but if I'd chor one to be above average I'd want the face. I don't know that's just me, I'm kinda biased for girls with piercing eyes and well proportioned faces.
- +1 y
@Bandit74 I'm not sure I disagree with you. The main point I was actually trying to make is that among average to below average people doing the simple things to get a decent body will actually make you MUCH more attractive, more than having lucked into a slightly better face (which should be seen as good news for people hoping to do so). But going from kind of attractive to very attractive is primarily about face, and going from a pretty good to slightly better body doesn't matter much.
3.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. Definitely face. I wouldn't want an obese girl but I'd rather have a girl with above average face and an average body over the reverse scenario. Plus most body flaws can be fixed through exercise. For me its all about the eyes. Beauty does fade but a persons eyes mostly remain the same. Sure skin sags but the shape and color of their eyes dont change too much, looking in their eyes at 40 will be the same as looking in their eyes at 20. So if I fins a girl with beautiful eyes her beauty won't fade.

Unless they've a crush or they're in love with you - very different from just "dating".
Even if you don't have a very beautiful face, make up can do wonders. Again, most guys don't know the difference. Or just don't care.12 Reply
+1 yThere's only so much you can do to your face, but your body can be transformed through diet and exercise. So a pretty body will always cancel out an average face. Although in certain conditions where she has a pretty body, but an ugly face than it gets harder to decide.

+1 yIf you've got one really good and one really bad, you're not attractive. For me, an 8/10 overall or higher is hot, with face accounting for 60% of physical attractiveness and body accounting for 40%. So if a girl has a 7 body she needs an 8.5-9 face to be hot.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI would choose face, because you can sculpt your body by working out and improve it in most cases.
But if that wasn't an option, the body cannot be terrible, it at least has to be sorta fit. Like maybe her boobs are more on the flat side but her ass is still kinda there. Definitely not fat.00 Reply

@kheserthorpe Lol how?
- +1 y
well saying 'i'd pick the face because it's easier to fix the body'.
That's true theoretically, but sort of dodges the question of which matters more to you. It's also not that often true in practice, while some people will turn things around and get in shape, most out of shape people are going to look worse in 5 years, not better. - +1 y
I see what you're saying. But still the face is still more important to me, as long as the body is not horrendous. I'l definitely take a good face with an average body, over an average face with a good body.

Body you can work on, face you have for life.
- +1 y
@doireallyneedone are you a virgin? xD you know there is plastic surgery for both kind of "problems"
- +1 y
I think there's some truth to this, honestly. I think we're under social pressure to like a cute face, but caring about body is 'shallow'. But with time I've flipped around. A face is a plus, feeling sexual attraction is a must. Lust + compatibility is a lot better starting point then "pretty in a non sexual way" + compatibility.
- +1 y
@bubble_tea So then why isn't every getting plastic surgery to enhance their facial features? I'm sure everyone would like to look better right?
There's plastic surgery for body enhancements too. Girls can get boobs jobs, liposuction, hip/butt implants etc. Will it look at as good as the real thing? No. Same thing with the face, yeah you can get plastic surgery but it would never look as good and as natural as the real thing and will start to look like crap in due time. - +1 y
@doireallyneedone I think it's because
Plastic surgery isn't an exact science and that screwing around with your face in too risky both to your health and aesthetics. You can't change the bone structure of your face it's too invasive and risky. Liposuction and boob jobs are safe/ easy in comparison - +1 y
@rUinSAYAN @doireallyneedone
look at that. people criticizing me for stating the obvious. never said the results of surgeries ARE better, only that you have options in BOTH cases. it's not like you're scarred for life if you have an less desirable face. people who naturally have high testosterone/high metabolism and work out also look better than those working out on steroids.
@kheserthorpe yes, I noticed in myself that my preferance has also changed over the years. I still prefer pretty faces, but the body isn't as unimportant as it used to be. - +1 y
@bubble_tea Surgery is not really an option for everyone and like you said its not better than the real thing. Fact of the matter is, its WAY harder to change your face than it is to change your body. Most people can attain a fairly attractive body if they diet and exercise correctly, of course genetics plays a role too so its much harder for some people compared to others - but it is still well within a person's control.
- +1 y
@doireallyneedone well, there's still make up. cheaper and easy to learn.
- +1 y
@bubble_tea True but everyone can use make-up. A good looking girl with make-up > average looking girl with make up.
- +1 y
@Bandit74 You can't change bone structure? Tell that to her: s3-ec.buzzfed.com/.../...zz-30554-1365095488-2.jpg
I'm pretty sure Kanye West's mother died after a liposuction, and a p*rnstar died on the table for getting a boob job. Now give me a case where someone died from infection or something from their face surgery. - +1 y
Ok yes you can change your face but it's risky. The results aren't always as good as the ones you provided. Also in my opion the number one feature in determining facial attractiveness is the eyes. The shape and positioning of them, and to my knowledge there is nothing you can do to change the shape/ position of your eyes and if there is it is not worth the risk. also There's a lot more that can go wrong when trying to modify your facial features. If they damage the masseter muscle or any other muscle in your face you will suffer serious complications. Sure any surgery can be fatal but a liposuction or boob job generally carries less risk than on to the face. So plastic surgery on your body carries less risk and can yield better more predictable results than facial surgey.- just my opinion
- +1 y
@bunnahies no way! I'm the one crushing so hard on you, sweetest bunny in a bee costume ^^
@Bandit74 indeed this is just your opinion since you cannot provide any numbers backing up for theory that facial surgeries are more risky. I don't want to burst your bubble, but you can definitely change the shape and length of your eyes nowadays. Just look at that famous woman who wanted to look like a lion or something. But there are also good results, praise the South Korean plastic surgeons for them. - +1 y
haha what a tactless answer.
lets say if id choose between beauty and brain, i would choose brain. Damn how disappointing... tsktsk... - +1 y
I don't have time to research the stats now but I will look into later. But the lion lady did no change her eye shape in a positive way. She looks like a freak. The shape of your eyes are determined by your ocular bones and you can't safely and non invasivly change your bone structure.
A dude that puts more importance on body is an idiot. Period...

Do you think I would stand a chance with her - not caring about her body (although I think its amazing) - do you think she would consider a guy like me? - +1 y
hahaha why wouldn't she? :P
