Why does my crush keep ignoring?

So I met my crush through a dancing class last year. We have a lot in common, we're both from the same city, we both like to dance and other stuff. We got along because yea... We're from same city. We started dancing with each other as dance partners, and from there we got a long. I don't usually see him around campus, but one day he saw me doing HW at the cafeteria and I saw him so I waved to him. He came up to me and we started talking. Then another day, I was outside sitting down at a event and he saw me and came up to me asking about what this event is and then asked me if it was okay if he could get to know me by asking some questions. And he did. All that was lasy last year.
Last year he was trying to get to know me well. This year I told him about an event that he should come, and he did. During the event he came up to me just to say hi and we started having a conversation. He even talk to my friends. Every time I introduced him to my friends he always tell my friends that we met dancing and that I'm a great dancer. He always say that.
That time we were both smilie and happy to see each other. Now he ignores me. I don't know what happen but he stopped saying hi to me, he looks at the ground when ever he passes by or he jusy look straight ahead trying not to smile. I didn't do anything to make him ignore me. Now I do the same thing to him, but that's because I get nervous around him because he's ignoring me. During dancing club at school, I went to bring my friends so they could have fun. I wanted to say hi to him but I got that weird vibe from him because he's ignoring me. I did notice he was staring at me from distance. Even if he was dancing with another girl we would still stare at me. He even got closer to where I was dancing but when ever he got closer to look for another partner he completely ignore me.

I'm so confused. Why is he acting like this to me? I like him a lot, and I thought he did like me but I don't know. I guess not...
