I accidentally gave a girl I am dating a hickey and I think she was angry at me?

So I was over her place last weekend and things got a little passionate, I was kissing her on the neck, she said “careful, no hickeys”, I immediately stopped and she got up to go shower. When she came out she showed me I had given her a hickey... I told her I was really sorry, and that I didn’t mean to. I stopped right after she warned me, but I guess I didn’t stop fast enough... I honestly didn’t mean to, I have never given someone a hickey before despite liking to kiss girl’s necks, I honestly thought it would have been much more difficult considering I had never done it in previous relationships. It wasn’t huge, and at the base of her neck, but it was still visible...

I apologized multiple times and she jokingly said “I hate you” and it seemed like she was annoyed but over it. I said I would be much more careful going forward. Ever since though, she has been very distant, and she said she couldn’t hang out this weekend. We live very far from one another, and she did have a lot of unexpected stuff come up (I believe her on this). But I just don’t know what to do. She gave me a hickey before, but it was on my collar bone, and that was my first one too but I didn’t realize until I had gotten home. I feel terrible that I did that, things just got carried away in the moment... thoughts?

Hmm well I'm not sure. Give it time. My boyfriend gave me one Thanksgiving Day last year (we got cause up in the moment too) his family saw and was ashamed but I wasn't as annoyed by it since I new they don't last long and same case with him he didn't know how nor has ever given one to anyone. If it doesn't pass in the next week or 2 then u'll need to reach out big time.

Respect each other's space and don't do it anymore. Both of you are moving way to fast. It's very clear that she is not really angry at you. But that she is angry at herself and is setting boundaries so this won't happen again.
