Are advanced degrees intimidating or disturbing to women?

Anonymous
Are women intimidated or disturbed when men have advanced degrees (JD, Ph. D, MD, Masters, etc) ? I have several advanced degrees and I have found that women are far more willing to go out with me initially and date me when I *don't* mention those things. In fact, since they usually ask about my education, I have taken to lying about it and saying I have an AA or BS degree only, which seems to make things go much better. I really *dislike* lying, and anyone thinking about it would realize that my job requires an advanced degree - so I wind up lying about my job too. As you can probably figure out, all of this turns into a mess eventually and I feel guilty as hell about lying to anyone for any reason. What is a reasonable and effective way to handle this? I am out of ideas.

This is a sincere question and I welcome any constructive comments or opinions. Please don't tell me to only date women with advanced degrees - most of them are unavailable or married, and the ones I do find occasionally only want to discuss work or school. I like to talk about music and art.

The same question was asked regarding educated women and the effect on men. This question is meant in part to simply be the inverse.
