Um, the real question is WHY are you chasing after women you don't know and have a height preference? Why are you concerned with such women? Look to women who don't see your height as a problem. It's not really superficial standards, but for most women, we cannot be physically attracted to have sex with them because, for most, it would be like kissing and having sex with a little brother or god forbid a child. Men don't necessarily have to be taller, but he should at least be a few inches taller, no more than 4 around her height. It feels more romantic and comfortable on our level. Now some like my mother may not care, but even she pointed out about there would be problems with intimacy with my father. And yes, down there too.
I say the problem is the misguided intent with the questions at hand. If you want somebody who is physically attractive for the sake of it, then yes, your shallow. It doesn't matter if its a man or a woman. BUT when it comes to intimacy, height, weight, and personal health and hygiene is an absolute MUST. It shouldn't be the first thing you see to make such judgments. I at least let a shorter guy down politely that there is no way it can be. Remember that men have standards of height and breast size and butt size too. Should we then get into that conversation? I just would never be involved with somebody with that mentality.

Honestly I agree with you it's pretty fucked up and it casts women in an extremely shallow light. It's actually my pet peeve to see girls shorter than me (5'5") with giants it's like dude wouldn't it be easier from a man's perspective to date tall women so as not to fuck his neck up over the years of kissing? Also, it would make more sense to date an average height guy as a short girl.
However, I think assertive short girls tend to want to feel more feminine by dating taller men.
I also think tall women have it pretty rough, not many men want a tall lady.
What Girls Said
Being tall makes guys seem more physically masculine, like having a deep voice or facial hair. And beauty standards, even hypocritical ones, are a pretty weak reason to hate someone. Try to keep things in perspective.
Peter dinklage fucks, your problem ain't height related.
