How do you ask a guy where you stand?

Honestly, I see tiktoks, I read memes, I talk to guy friends, I to family members, I talk to girl friends, I talk to friends who are in relationships and guess what... they all say the same thing...

You cannot ask a guy "So what are we?" Or "Where do we stand?" Or "where is this relationship going?" Without being labeled needy or getting blocked or ghosted or whatnot. No matter how good the relationship is going.

Contradictory, however, you also cannot be in, or should not stay in, a "relationship" that you don't know where you stand or where it's going.

So you have to know, but you can't ask.

So guys how to you know or ask without asking?

It's sort of like quantum entanglement or a probability wave ie wavefunction once you observe it, it collapses. In a way you don't really need to label it in the "exploratory" phase no? Just enjoy the time you're having and you'll know when you'll know. You can ask once the situation is "saturated", just for the sake of communication and making things clear. Sometimes humans make the relationships maybe more complicated that they "need" to be.

I don't know of a way to ask, without asking. However, if a guy drops the relationship because you ask, it's clear that he was either not into you, or was using you. it is best to wait a while into a relationship before asking where you stand, as asking too early, certainly will make the guy nervous and likely make you seem needy. But if a gy can't stand a simple question like this, then he is immature or using you.

You definitely ask a guy that. I was talking to this girl that was my old co-worker. We madeout one time after an employee party after she admitted she thought I was cutee. Then later she gave me her number and asked me out. Now I haven't heard much from her since we list our jobs due to Covid shut downs in my state. Since she wasn't really replying to me I had to ask, are you still interested in me, and she said yes just that she has been really busy.

Sonic feel like it's perfectly reasonable question to ask a man. If he gets offended then he probably isn't the one for you.

Just as you typed. Sit them down and tell them you need to know what this relationship is and where it's going. If he can't do that, he's not worth your time anyway.

So if u like him just tell him that u like him and he will reply depending on ur kind of talk.
And u will know where u stand then

I prefer to ask the girl in such situation and would feel comfortable answering the girl as well. So it it is me, ask directly and be prepared for a direct answer! Although, I would say all my friends / FWBs / SOs (in the past) always knew where we stood with each other!

If he doesn't get the idea.. then you need to start thinking about other options

He's 33. And I would say you point is valid but age is different for guys than girls. Girls get older and their options get more limited. Guys get older and they can still date/get a date with someone 5 or even 10 years younger. Or even more as proved by my uncle who's girlfriend is younger than me but older than my sister who's 19.

On and off confusion for let's say 4 or 5 months. Before that there was on and off confusion for a while but 4 or 5 months ago was when we both said we liked eachother but no agreement or anything was made from there no "cool so do you want to go out?" Or "well, I'm not seeing anyone but you so..." just that I like you, oh me too, really I never knew that, I thought you liked so and so, I thought I was just a friend. Done.
