How to comfort your girlfriend after a nightmare?

My girlfriend has really bad nightmares she read about Israel getting bombed she had a bad dream about the US getting bombed every time something bad like this happens she always has nightmares about it. She doesn't want to go back to sleep she's not a morning person either. She can't stop screaming. How can I calm her down? What should I say to her?

Sounds like she needs therapy. Nightmares shouldn’t be that intense for adults. Is your girlfriend 5 years old?
