He's going to New York in two months, should I still pursue something with him or forget him?

So this guy I really like is leaving town in August, he's going to pursue his masters in New York. It's been going really well with him, but now that he is leaving in two months I don't know what to do or what's going to happen. He did mention he would like if I came to and applied for my masters in New York. So I can be there next year. But I am so confused. Should I ask him if he wants to be in a long distance relationship with me? Or should I completely forget him and cut off contact so that I can start liking someone else? But I am really heartbroken about this and I don't want to let go but I also don't want to hold him back and suffer because of it. Would appreciate it if you could help me out :)

I am in a LDR with a Guy from Gag I met Over Two years ago. I plan on Going to be with him in a Year if the Covid restrictions get better. You need to decide if LDR is for You--And him. It is only NY and Not over the Globe which is Hard as hell. But not an Impossible Dream. Talk to him. xx

well i think it depends on the relationship u had with him before he goes! was it serious? or more casual? did he had this plan to new york a long time ago? or did he decided when you already knew him? And as i can see you like him and you are attached so going in new york could be an option! But i think you should give it a try, if the liking is really mutual, both will make efforts. if you don't see efforts from his side well then you cut contact i think its for the best:) i hope i was helpful
