As a black woman dating a white man, it makes no sense to me. I get stares, comments, and I have even lost friends. Based off my experience, people think/feel this way because of jealousy, hatred of black woman and of white men, racist mindsets, colorism, and because they just don’t understand it and also it’s not a “norm”.
When people see a black man white woman, it’s considered normal because you see it all the time in the media (magazines, tv shows, music videos, and even in porn). It’s something people just have accepted. But when a black woman and white man date it’s not as widely accepted and not as publicized. Just recently more bwwm relationships have been broadcasted in the media. Which is causing people to either accept or acknowledge bwwm relationships.
It’s a change of “norms” people aren’t accustomed too.
Also, some people don’t understand what black woman see in white men and vice versa. And since they can’t or refuse to understand it they nitpick and judge and troll their relationship. This often stems from their own personal racist mindsets and the jealousy they feel.
in my opinion, White men get more hate than black men and black women get more hate than white/non-black women. I feel that people feed off this which resulted in the negative and judgmental comments about bwwm relationships.
I hope this helps.
I am sorry that you went through that. I have never lost friends due to me dating white men. I have gotten the looks and I just laugh or not pay attention. I heard whispers like’ she is not into him’ type of stuff.
It might be different for cultures because in mine black women are praised and often encouraged to date white men as some type of status symbol for success. It’s either we date white men or men in our ethnicity and because of prejudice if women in my culture date anything else like Asian men we would get harsh backlash and disapproval from family members (especially the older generation) .
its called the black man hating on the white man. its always like this and i hate. you see a big booty and i have right to hit it. so its just them being jealous. you one know a secret, have you ever noticed that all these woman that the black man has all look he same, really white , heavy set , tacky blond hair usualy. they have all someone they know living in trailer park. the secret is that they take girls that the white man has made an outcast. and the problem white man , with some black girls they dont knpw what to with all that booty. they get scared and the black man talks shit
A lot of the black men choose the white women that the white men do not want.
Anyone who's worried about who anyone else is dating based on skin color/race, is someone who's not worth worrying about the thoughts of. And for full disclosure, I am a black male and almost married a super-tall, pale ginger white woman. I don't care who you date, as long as you aren't hurting others (like polyamory/adultery), lying to them (like some queer/trans people do) or it doesn't interfere with my own life.

Because I think a lot of black men are insecure and racist (as can be seen from the many troll posts we have on here by black men (or man, it might be one guy with multiple accounts). Obviously not all black men are that way but I think their is a trend with black men where they get really insecure and racist, they feel like if they have sex with a white woman some how it shows that they are better then white men (this would also explain the explosion of porn catering to this very idea (where its a black man with a white woman and usually involves cuckolding or demeaning white men (as the racism is the focus, a power fantasy really)), so naturally if that is their view then the opposite, a white man with a black woman is him being "cucked" or made to look inferior which their ego's cannot stand.
Its actually a good way of determining if a guy has a fragile ego and is not racist is if he is comfortable with interracial relationships. Personally I'm all for it (as long as its not this weird fetishizing power fantasy stuff, I think that is unhealthy and not particularly fair to their partner), I have no issue with any one dating who they want, but unfortunately their are those (and yes its both whites and blacks but I do find it more common amongst black men (native born black American men anyway)) who do not feel the same way.
Though I think @MCheetah put it a bit more succinctly then me, basically any one who cares isn't worth your time and you can do better then that. So date a white guy (or Asian, or hispanic or black, etc.), as long as you love him who cares what others think.
At least where I live black men dating white women isn’t seen as okay by plenty of black women. There is even you tube videos about why black men are “uncle toms” or “house n***ers” for dating white or Asian women.
Maybe this is different where you are but there is a lot of racism in the black community especially about interracial relationships. It’s slowing dying off but it’s still there.
That has not been my experience. I have found that most people are more accepting of a black woman/white man relationship than a black man/white woman relationship. However, I am happy to see that there is more acceptance of interracial relationships in general.
haven't you noticed it? Black people are just as racist as white people.
Personally i have never cared who someone dates as long as they are happy. Regardless of skin color. It seems only racist people (white or black) hold such idiotic notions.
They are? I never heard anything like this and my last girlfriend (she was Jamaican) never told me about anything like this being said to her.
Granted, she could have just never told me about it but I find that unlikely given how open we were with each other.
I think its more of a US native born black American thing. I don't see African immigrants having this issue so I think its specifically that cutlure (my friend is dating a black woman and lets just say her ex and her parents where not pleased).
@hellionthesagereborn I mean, she was 1st generation so she was born in the US.
Yeah but culturally she would have been raised by jamaicans and I don't think they have the same level of animosity towards whites as native born black americans. I think that is the issue.
That'd not true for me (I'm black by the way). You don't know how happy I am when I see a brother or a sister with a brother or sister from another mother
Just ignore the haters. They are the ones with the problem... not you.
Both races have people that would rather they only date within their race for genetic reasons or "bloodline"
Personally no ides
Why can a black man date interracially with no problem, but when a black woman interracially date, we’re called lost souls and we’re self haters?
They just need to mind their business
I think that yes, you probably would get similar treatment but from my experience I find its far more common from black men towards white women then the other way around (maybe because if whites are racist they get shamed more then a black person so they keep their mouth shut, or maybe black men are just really insecure (which is my opinion from my experience (obviously not all but many I think)). The key is to not give a fuck about what others think because they are not you and they don't matter.
@hellionthesagereborn I don't know I agree with her about mind your damn business in general
As do I, its your life not theirs so why would you ever listen to some one who doesn't have to live with the consequences of their demands? Seems like a waste of life to let others live your life for you.
@hellionthesagereborn I think she's just irritated as many are today
Of course, its understandable, hypocrisy is very grating.
Selective bias, you aren't a black man dating interracially, so you don't get such views.
I am a black woman that dates interracially.
I am saying, you are not a black man that dates interracially, you do not see things the same way as one, he may get similar labels as well.
Hun, they don’t get the same treatment. It’s a norm for black men to date non-black women…nobody says anything. Let a black woman interracially date, she is called a coon, sell out, lost soul.. bed wench all because that black woman found love from a man of different race. Black men think they can have their cake and eat it.. you can’t have it both ways. Anyways, if you haven’t been through what I am talking about, there no need for your opinion. I am tired…but I won’t stop dating who I want.
Because they want to fuck whoever they want to fuck but they want to keep y'all in the pen.
Well that’s changing. It’s been changing for years.
That's good.
If a black woman is "owned" by a white man, why isn't a black man ^owned^ by a white woman... as in your example pic?
because a lot of people still think of back in slavery when white men would rape black women so they see it as black women being owned by white men
And they say shit like this: you are a disgrace to your ancestors who were enslaved, tortured, rapped and murdered by them.
Your first mistake was to expect any kind of logic, reason, or decency from racists.
Well I don’t know how it is being a black girl but if that’s really true. Then obviously it just seems plain unfair
Fuckin bed wenches, get a grip and stop worshipping white cock
Lol well who's calling you that?
Someone called me a lost soul because I date white guys. Saying that I am a disgrace to my ancestors.
People I know…and people I don’t know..
