I'm not sure what your definition of chubby is, but I personally wouldn't want to be in a Jack Sprat relationship in either direction. I usually see couples who appear to compliment eachother's body type. Petite men usually find petite women.
Chubby isn't always unhealthy. I'd say it might be because it's just their type? Girls also most of the time go after someone for their personality rather than strictly looks

Weight is not always something you have control over. However I would say from experience that we enjoy life, comfort and stability.
