I see a lot of health and fitness plans sold to men, and as a bi guy I can recognise most of them are basically selling nonsense. There this picture of perfect male physic, and apart from the fact that I don’t find it attractive, its not replicated in women’s media either.
I see a lot of straight friends sold on this image, take up crazy workouts and unhealthy diets, who don’t seem to be able to see that what are basically MLMs, don’t care about what women actually find hot. Just as an example, six pacts require you to be so much more skinny than people realise, they aren’t hot irl, and honestly feel kinda weird during sex.

I don’t think male attractiveness is talked about openly as much as they should be and this crosses over into relationships. I know straight women who talk far too much to me about about hot a guys they’ve seen or met, but even if they end up dating the guy, will almost never tell him that.
I think part of this is circular, because it isn’t talked about its assumed men don’t (or should) care if they’er attractive or not, and so insecurities and anxiety build under the surface. This makes it easy for advertisers sell products and workout plans which will enviably make things worse.

I personally don’t like big muscles, obviously just a preference, but things like BTS all have very skinny/ pretty boys, so clearly there's a market outside me. I don't know every other ad I have on youtube are these fitness things with some body builder telling me I need to look like this or else I’ll never find love, and I’m a bit worried about some people taking that seriously

Like with tumblr’s old crushes like Cumberbatch, or Robert Pattinson, they might have some muscle but its not what’s selling it, if that makes sense. there's a lot more room for things like Dad-bodes etc. But if you try and look up tips of ‘how to look good as a man’ suddenly what is considered attractive becomes narrowed to a single type.
