Typical left on read?

I've been seeing this girl, things have been going nicely, we've gone on a few dates, hung out at each others places met families...
We've been texting, sadly I've had to isolate as I was near a close case. We were having a pretty Normal conversation, she was being oddly chaotic. She then left me on read, It was a message you could respond to, but it can also have the convo end there...
I'm not sure if I should try starting another conversation, maybe a cheeky comment
something humorous about leaving me on read...
I'm not sure if I should or maybe she's just not interested anymore.

I think the chaos was just random energy burst, we talked again a bit and oddly the conversation died a bit (usually they die after a few days not just one night), do you think I should still ask if she's okay or just let it rest and wait for her to initiate a new one to see if she's really still interested.
