Passively: you are looking but not really looking. If someone comes along you don’t turn them down. You test the waters. Not on online dating sites not doing a lot. Really just having a good time and living life by yourself until that person comes along.

Loving me: Then there’s those self lovers and the learning to be OK in your own company. What screwed over but not closing the door on love. Sometimes the pessimistic

Passively for sure. Started dating my ex wife when i was 14, married at 22, divorced at 46. Took awhile to even consider dating again then when i felt like it was time, covid hit which tbh was probably a good thing cuz i have kinda enjoyed the last 2 years of being alone. But if a lady comes along that piques my interest i would certainly seize the opportunity.

I never say never but i seriously doubt it. We just got to a point in our lives where we wanted different things. By the time our kids our kids left for college it felt like i was living with a buddy.

I am a mix of "passively" and "one day but not today". I have been hanging out with a particular lady, who I met just by being out and about in my normal life without "looking". It really isn't "official" yet and I'm not sure that I am in the life position right now to be in a relationship.

I was passively looking for most of my life, until the last one I dated 3 years ago.. seeing my friends and family members just falling in and out of love with people around them.. thinking it would also happen to me someday. But for the ones I dated it was tough from almost the start, and nothing that would ever turn into a relationship when I looked at it from a distance.
I think I actively have to look to find anyone since it does not naturally happen to me, and I am not ready to put myself out there like that. But someday I will, need to try it out for real in my lifetime xD, until then I am the pessimistic hopeless romantic as you put it ;)

I think I'm ready and I think I should start putting myself out there and I could use the tell within the first two to three minutes whether I would date the person or not and it's the same time I would tell then the reasons why but then I would say if you want to go hang out and do something we can do that

If someone likes me we could talk and get to know each other, but I currently don't have the time available to spend time with someone for a relationship until June of next year. So getting to know them by occasionally talking is the best i could do right now.
