I think that it's only a matter of opening your eyes to realize that hypergamy is destroying the modern society, because less and less people are getting engaged.

2) Women seek to have sex with one quality partner
3) As a consequence of points 1 and 2, women are selective
4) In dating apps, men send hundreds of messages
5) In dating apps, women receive hundreds of messages and they are therefore very selective
6) Women choose best-looking, most powerful/rich guys
7) As a consequence of all this, if you don't stand in a woman's top 5% pursuers you are doomed. You get zero dates
8) Guys who are in the top 5-10% do 95% of the dating
9) As a consequence of this, guys who are in the top 5-10% never commit (following from point 1: they prefer to have sex with more women rather than committing)
10) As a consequence of this, women think that all the males are unreliable
Basically they go on in a loop: women keep dating top models until they reach their thirties, and this is when they open their eyes and they realize that all the top 5% of the males that they kept chasing were always unavailable. Maybe only 5% of the women can marry one of these men, the remaining 95% of the women will be literally leftovers. When they reach the age of 35 they are already disillusioned and they know that they will never date their Brad Pitt again, and they either go for a provider or they stay singles forever.
In short, what happens is that women waste all of their time in a loop, trying to date guys who will never commit and once they realize it's too late. The guy whom they refused 10 years ago is already trying to date a younger woman, and as a consequence of this nobody marries and nobody makes children.
