Guy I'm seeing invited me to the beach with him and his friends, but I made plans with someone else. How do I let him know without sounding rude?

I want to let him down easy. How's "I'm sorry, I already made plans with a friend to go walking with her. I'd like to join you guys next time. Hope you all have fun." ? Is that a good response? He and I have only been on 5 dates so far. He's a very well-mannered person. Classy in the way he talks.

Girl it’s good that you have your own things going on. You don’t have to explain who you’re going with. You can just be like I’d like to go but I already have plans. Something short and sweet I’m sure he will understand

Thanks. I said something along those lines. I said I had already made plans with a friend and thanked him for the invitation. I sent a pic of the girl I was hanging with. He said to have fun and be safe. I thanked him and he didn't respond. It's been a day. Is he likely not interested anymore?
