How should I text a girl I haven’t spoken too in 3 months but really like?

I started college in September, and there was this girl in two of my classes that I had a huge crush on. Over the course of the next couple months, I learned she liked me too and we went on a date in December. We both had a lot of fun, but the semester ended a couple days later and she had to fly back to her home across the country. (She dorms and I commute). Over the break we lost contact and we haven’t spoken during the new semester. I really miss her and I want to text her but don’t really know what to say. How should I approach the text and what should I say?

Introduce yourself, update her on your life and say you are curious about her because you see a lot of kindness or intelligence or character in her, and you wanted to know if her life had improved, so you you would love to learn more about her cause she has (list her good qualities) than mention you were bored and isolated and have not had much going on (girls don’t like it when guys are having a better time than her, they want to feel like they matter to him), so downplay your experiences since you lost contact - discuss something you learned (woman are attracted to humility in men).
