My girlfriend compared me to someone else. How should I feel about this?

Recently me and my girlfriend were talking about working out and I asked her to rate me. She told me I was a 9 but I lacked muscle so I asked her which areas I should develop. She then said " well I don't really know that but I compare you to *name* today and he had muscles like a 10".
I have previously felt very insecure about this same guy She compared me to and I don't know how to feel about this. What should I do? How should I feel?

Getting compared to anyone is never a nice feeling so it’s completely normal for you to feel insecure. She could’ve rated you without comparing you to anyone but she might just be trying to motivate you to get better. If she keeps on comparing you then I think you should let her know that it bothers you.

She did later say she wasn't attracted to him. But definitely weird.. why would she compare us if she wasn't attracted to him?

She might have a preference for more muscular guys but that doesn’t mean that she’s attracted to the person she compared you too, she probably just likes his body type

Well, that's really shitty thing to do 😕 Especially, if she knows about you being insecure. You have right to feel upset, and as the pink anon said, talk to her about it and tell her how that makes you feel if she brings it up again.
