Is it a good idea to hit up an old coworker 2 years later and confess your feelings for them?

I didn’t admit my feelings for him because he made me feel to shy and embarrassed. I was too awkward and afraid. I also think he didn’t like me at first, and later on he liked me.

But would it help if I said to him …… that I didn’t say anything to him throughout the 2 years we worked together ; due to “me not being single or having a man”. And also that “I don’t date coworkers”.

Would that help me not look like a coward?

Thanks to everyone in the comments telling me to go ahead and do it. I felt the same way. I specially knew he had a thing for me too but since I had told him I had a man he tried to keep his distance. <3
I feel like I should give him that chance, and if he rejects me at least I tried.

I mean why not? You're no longer coworkers go for it!!! All he can say is no, so no harm or foul, its not like you will have to go to work everyday and see him or deal with him. I say go for it because lots of people don't want to get involved with coworkers because it brings drama into the work place.

So I 100% would say reach out to him and say since we are no long coworkers would he be interested in going out on a date. So do not say you have been crushing on him for two years that is weird... but just say since he was a coworker you never seriously consider him... but now you "might" be interested. If you tell him you have crushed on him for 2 years he might get the wrong idea and want to just hook up with you... which is fine unless you are looking for something different or more.

One more point of consideration, is that I have talked with people who have had similar situations... some people are different in the work place then in their personal lives. I have talked to my girlfriends who said she dates an ex coworker who was completely different at work then outside of it... so keep an open mind and go into with your eyes wide open... and trust your gut, because the guy you know form work might not be who he actually is. But I would not it discourage if you really desire to do it, and you never know. Best of luck to you.

Why not just call him, leave out any discussion of your feelings, and just ask him if he would like to meet for lunch? By the end of the lunch, you should know whether he is interested.

Everytime I got rejected which is not a lot I brushed it off and most of the time it's cause the dumb chick was married but she had no ring and never spoke or talked about her husband.
