What are your personal thoughts about promise rings?

I always thought promise rings were something that high schoolers/teenagers give to whoever they’re dating to show they love them, but I feel that they’re kind of stupid for adults in their late 20’s or older. If you aren’t ready to get married, then don’t. If you are, then save up for an engagement ring. What are your thoughts?

Honestly, we (in Turkey) dont have such things as "promise rings" or "class rings" that you give to your beloved one which went down to you from mom/dad.

We just have engagement and wedding rings.
Well, i'd still try it out with my future girlfriend.
