Couples are supposed to submit to eachother. You are supposed to do things for your SO out of love, because you want to, not out of obligation/duty. If the idea of your SO being unhappy does not upset you, then break up.

That I wouldn't want that, I already have enough things to think about that I can not follow a grown woman like a parent would. I got married with the agreement that I would do my thing and she would do hers, and for now it's working.
