Ex and new girlfriend - what should I do in this awkward situation?

I think coming up this school semester I'm going to run into my ex and his new girlfriend. I was the one who basically rejected him and I remember him being pretty tied over me.

I feel like his girlfriend might be a little strict. Whenever I need to contact him for something he tries to avoid conversation. I'm guessing his girlfriend knows about me and might be a bit insecure? I don't know. Exes shouldn't really be in contact too much anyway I guess.

Either way, I volunteer at this club I'm most likely to see them both at. What should I do if they encounter me for club stuff like me needing to check them in or something?

He’s your EX so why should you care⁉️ How about graciousness and shake both their hands and “good to see you both…. hope semester goes well.” That will probably shock the mess 💩 out of them. At that point, you are in a position of power as well.

Yea of course I want to be nice. But I'm not sure. She knows me but I don't really know her. I was thinking about saying they're cute or making a lighthearted joke about him upgrading but that might be weird.

You usually have really good answers.. I'm a little stunned by this one. The problem with that answer is I don't know her. Good to see you both imply we all already met before or something. I also wouldn't be putting my hand all the way over a check-in desk for shaking. And also there's no guarantee they would even shake my hand back - which would position me in an awkward position moreso than a position of power.
