What to do if I am attracted to older women but I also know it’s a waste of time considering the things I want?

At this point it’s getting to the stage where I should really focus on meeting somebody seriously. And considering I would probably like at least a child, if not a few, if I’m being serious about somebody I probably shouldn’t look much beyond 40 at the most. I don’t have much experience relationship wise though. and the past couple years has not helped matters. I’ve missed that on some good opportunities definitely for various reasons, but I just think it might be fun to date and have sex with a woman who’s 15 to 25 years older than me.. it would be both though not just the one. I don’t like the idea of not having emotional attachment

If you think it's a waste of time then the only rational answer I can think of is for you to pay attention to other things.

Surely your mere attraction to older women can't be that problematic that you can't focus on shit that you think actually matters in your life.
