There are appropriate times when masculinity is needed that a woman may not be able to take care of, such as protecting.
I place a tremendous amount of Intrinsic value on a woman that has initiated a relationship with me. The fact you can trust and love me speaks volumes.
As for the ladies that say its always sex... here's something to suck on with the two evils. Would you rather have the guy that desires you all the time on the deepest intimate level or would you rather have the guy that cheats on you? This goes for the guys too.
It's not always about control in my opinion. Both sexes should share equal parts. Any sex that desires control has a serious psychological issue (Im talking about the control freak in this context). It happened with my previous girlfriend I had. I felt like more of a maid than a partner and it drained me emotionally.

+1 yI can tell you the root of all the anger, frustration and aggravation in vast majority of men today is the feeling of the lack of respect from women.
Of course men want positive female attention, intimacy and sex. Who doesn’t want that from the opposite gender? But when many women don’t find us valuable and/or likeable then many don’t hesitate to disrespect men despite us doing nothing to provoke them nor deserve it.
Most women don’t understand that likeability does NOT equal respect. They are similar but not the same.

I've met a guy who really by all accounts should be disregarded... But I tried to see past that when he told me of his life because he'd been treating me well.
But in recent weeks were I've been clear I dislike tardiness and he's turned up at one stage 2hours late, he's started to get rude and ignorant.
I told him lateness will make me annoyed, irritated and then ill lose respect and end things.
I don't have rge patience for it. - +1 y
I don't think I'm being unreasonable but still a shit show!
- +1 y
Well if he’s getting rude then it’s fine to return the favor. Not saying women should tolerate disrespectful men. Being 2 hours late isn’t cool.
However I will give you more common example. Guy is interested in a girl. Girl doesn’t feel the same way about the guy but can’t bring herself to tell him no. Girl decides to (unannounced) friendzone a guy. Guy becomes increasingly more agitated, frustrated and angry. One day he snaps. Girl uses the cop out/gaslight excuse that “he just wanted sex and no one is entitled”. However the guy is not really angry about that (he might be heartbroken she doesn’t like him but if he’s mature he won’t get angry). No he is angry she wasn’t (tactfully) honest with him. She didn’t give him the respect to put think of the man’s POV on that.
In other words attraction isn’t a choice but RESPECT is. And respect isn’t telling feel good lies either. No it’s putting the mental effort into understanding someone else’s POV. That takes work. - +1 y
Work that very few seem to want to do these days!
- +1 y
Yep. Just curious when does society hit a breaking point with this self centeredness? A society can’t function much longer the more people who act this way. If it’s just dog eat dog there won’t be any dogs left. And the dogs left will eventually starve.
I’m speaking figuratively of course. But really if you keep failing to understand other people than how can you expect other people to understand you?
I guess this is why psycho counseling is a booming business. Empathy isn’t free anymore. - +1 y
It's sad... I have a therapist, I go to counselling I think it's essential to so the work. I want to be a decent human being, I can only do that by checking myself with an unbiased person, who believes in doing ethical work.
- +1 y
You seem like a decent person and there are still people in this world who appreciate that (despite my admittedly cynical view above).
The one thing I pray for is just better judgment. Just the ability to judge someone’s character to trust people who are worthy of it vs guarding myself from people who don’t. Also better understanding if someone is acting like a moron might be internally suffering and needs love vs. them being users/sociopaths. - +1 y

+1 yAn affordable mortgage. In the United States, interest rates are at an all-time high. The Federal Reserve's control measure is pushing first-time buyers out of the market. Pre-COVID, the nation experienced an all-time interest rate low. This resulted in a demand that the market could not meet. Combined with market control factors and an inflated housing market, home ownership feels like a dream of the past.

I bought my house luckily a few months before COVID struck lol
- +1 y
Facts. Here I was thinking that getting debt free during Covid was the right move, but I should’ve saved that for later and taken advantage of low interest rates…now I’ll probably be saving for several more years so these interest rates don’t have as much of an influence. Plus the stock market tanking, shit’s wild.
- +1 y
@CallyKat89 Lol, Interest rates are not at an "all time high" there at a high for your lifetime of home shopping. Historically rates are low, however they are high especially compared to the pre Covid years. However the positive is that a lot of markets ours here in Las Vegas being one have cooled off and knowledgeable investors and home shoppers can find deals if they know what they're doing.

+1 yIn a girlfriend/spouse? Honesty. Mutual tolerance. Being "in sync" w/e/other (mutual goals, responsibilities, views on the world, etc). Keeps promises. Discusses significant changes/purchases first before acting. Respectful of others. Good helpmate. Oh, yeah - some of that sex stuff, too. :- )
See Mark Gungor: Tale of Two Brains to find out how men/women differ (other than anatomically).
From others? Fairness. Honesty. "Professional" contractors who can actually do a job better than I can with a helper. Keeps promises.
From merchants? No BS hidden fees. Honest value. Decent service.

+1 yI don't think all men want the same thing. Some only want sex. Some want a committed relationship. Some just want a friend. Some want a family, some don't.
It's a combination of personality and upbringing I think that shapes your desires in relationships. And everyone has differences in both.

Joking aside, relationships are complex. You might get one partner who wants to dote on you, and treat you like his princess. You might get another that treats you like his ATM and personal prostitute.
Hence it's usually a case of what do YOU really want, and can the man provide enough of it to make it work for both of you and not just one of you
20 ReplyIN their dreams? Make $100m by 30, put $50m aside as a pension/home/investment portfolio and live off $1m a year for 50 years, being admired by horny women for 5 years before marrying and raising a family.
In reality? Make decent money doing something you are passionate about, find a decent woman to support you and love you doing that, raise some children with her before retiring in relative comfort to enjoy the fruits of 30 years of hard work.
10 ReplyWhen people ask me that I respond with, a girl that can belly up to the bar. Spend too much at a bar every once in a while. Someone that can fit in at a country club or a crappy dive bar.
I like going out and socializing. Meeting new people…. But I also have a pretty good job and fairly formal family in fiends. So I love people that can be a little more fun than socially acceptable, but also can polish up nice and do nice things. I feel like that’s who I am and who most of my good friends are. But I hate girls that try to be too fancy, but I can’t stand girls that are trashy and dumb.
00 Reply407 opinions shared on Dating topic. For women to stop lumping all guys together and assuming they're all clones of each other. Can you honestly say you're just like all the other women you've ever met and want exactly what they want? Do you want the husbands of all your friends and relatives, because they want that person? It might make sense to broaden your horizons by asking guys to help you see and understand what types of things they, as individuals, value, but never generalize any group as homogeneous.

Dunno what you're getting at... I asked a question if you didn't like how it was posed you didn't have to answer
Men want respect, be at the top of their interest and or profession.
Men wants a loyal woman, that will not cheat or leave him, be his kind of sexual object, and maintain her looks he knew when he first met her.
Men what to eat food and get some good sleep in.
00 Reply- 5.4K opinions shared on Dating topic.
+1 yThis question isn't easy to answer because each man is his own individual as women are their own individual and have their own personality.
What applies to person A won't necessarily apply to person B nor person C.
Now, in general terms of a relationship, most men typically desire the same thing i. e support system, honesty, good sex and loyalty.
It's all basic common stuff humans desire from each other in a relationship.
10 Reply Mature responsible men should find a solid loving woman. That being said I think a lot of men want to play the field and get through life as lazy as they can. I feel sorry for ladies between 18 and 65 years of age. The exceptions to my remarks ladies should hold onto.

I agree with sleeping around but really it's too much work.
I can't stand the idea of having power it fucking irritates me. Like I'm just supposed to want to dominate everyone around me. Miss me with that bullshit I want y'all MFers to leave me alone.
I would like for my girlfriend to be present and not bug me. It's like women think your man is supposed to become your therapist.
And it's funny cuz I see women ranting and raving all the time about how supposedly women are sick and tired of being men's therapist. I'm like how? It's always the opposite for me.
It always feels like I have to be solid rock and you get to be the emotional nutcase that I have to deal with, with grace and shit. Like fuck that, work out your own problems.
Stop making me the center of your universe. I can't stand that shit. - +1 y
You have no clue how many women I've liked and pass up on because they thought the lowest of men. If a girl thinks low of men, she will never trust me and that's just a mountain not worth climbing. Girls like that are the worse kind. They take love and smash it because of their sad beliefs. They will find a way to ruin a relationship because all they know is toxicity.
+1 yIf you ask 10 guys you will get 10 different answers. Most want a person they would want to spend time around.
