… but what about dating their patients’ mom?
I’ve been dating/seeing my children’s pediatrician for a while now and I like him, a lot. Since I’m not actually his patient, it never occurred to me that our relationship might be unethical because I’m the mother of some of his patients until my sister mentioned it recently. I mentioned it to him, and he said that he was aware of the issue. He told me that given the “tenor” of our relationship (we get along well, go out regularly, he stays with me at the weekend) and his intention to retire in the spring (he’s 70, I’m 53 by the way), it was worth treading into some ethically dodgy territory. I don’t quite know what to think, but I do like him a lot. Any advise or suggestions would be welcome.
