Probably has a lot to do with low self-esteem. The main problem here is you entertaining these bastards. Stop allowing them to walk over you or treat you like a rug and start developing more self-confidence. If someone undermines your capabilities, do not give them what they want: aka, a reaction from you. Stay calm and prove them wrong. If it's a healthy debate, you might want to present your arguments with enough proof to back it up and be more articulate.

On what basis did you come to the conclusion that you are attracting people who think they are better than you? Do you have any incidents that has happened in the past?
