Does all dating have to require sex as apart of it or to make it count as dating?

I was told that I don't actually want to date or a boyfriend. But that I just a friend that is a boy to hang out with because dating means sex and other things (I can't remember the rest). but I do want to date and have a boyfriend I maybe neurodivergent but that doesn't mean I don't want a boyfriend. It seems like people are making it seem like the only ay people have a partner is if involves sex. But aren't relationships more than about wanting sex? In most relationships couples hold hands have nicknames for each other go on dates. yes I want friends as well but I want a partner.

Sounds like whoever told you that is trying to manipulate you into having sex. Dating is the prerequisite to being in an exclusive relationship. Granted, not all dates lead to a relationship. But the entire point of going on dates is to get to know the person and move closer to that point. Some people diverge and end up in a friends with benefits situation, some just fall off completely. That’s why when dating you learn the other persons intentions to see if they’re even a person that is fit for you. Why mix sex in the vetting process? You wouldn’t even fully know this person.

Sadly, most people today will expect sex at some point if you are dating. If you start going to church and looking at the men there, though, your chances of finding someone who doesn't want to sleep around before marriage is a lot higher.

Dating isn't about sex its about getting into a relationship which involves having sex. So no you don't need to have sex during the dating phase. But you can't claim to have a boyfriend if you don't have a relationship. Then he is just a friend. Not a boyfriend.

Thank you and you're absolutely right. I've been told that I never dated someone that I did date because I was told dating involves having sex and dating involves doing this. And that it didn't count as a relationship event hough me and this person say hey let's date. And we broke things off. I don't know if I'm missing the clues because I'm being told that dating involves having sex when it doesn't have to.

This isn't a debate. I don't care what your reasoning is. You asked a question because I assumed you wanted an answer. I never said the answer would make you happy. You want a less sexual, or non sexual guy well then you're going to have to seek one out. But most women (at least in your age bracket) don't. Most women want the most attractive guy they can get. Well, those guys are in demand. And guys in general like sex, want sex. Which means you're probably going to have to provide that to get him, and likely to keep him. Less attractive guys are less demanding. Most are just happy to have a girlfriend.🤣 As I said, I never said you were going to like the answer.

I don't know I think I just cared more about the person than to have sex with them. I also think its more than just a low sex drive. I care more about the person's well being than I do sex with that person. And if holding hands and going dates to the movies makes a person happy then I'll do it and make that person feel special no matter what
