How should I react to him mentioning his ex in this way?

My dads going through some mental health issues and is sick in hospital at the minute. Iv been having panic attacks because of it. The last two days his been phoning me which is so sweet and I appreciate it so much because he suffered with panic attacks. He kept mentioning his ex however on the phone the past two days to me saying she had mental health issues bipolar and was in hospital like my dad she did this and that. And I was trying to listen but I was a bit like I don’t know weather his doing this to be helpful to me or his doing this because he still thinks about her and it’s starting to bug me.

he can just really mention his ex so that there's doneone you can relate. he knows his ex very well so the greatest example is the ex. i don't think he would mention his co-worker who also had mental issues because he didn't know her well. but if it bothers you just tell him
