I started dating a guy weeks ago but after 4 dates he stopped texting. Do you suggest me to ask him the reason?

I just ended my relationship and it was hard for me to date someone new. But everything was going well with this guy. And after 4 dates he stopped texting. What do you think might be the reason? What should I do?

I'm sorry... but it's really impossible for anyone to tell you what exactly might be going on in this guy's head.

Unfortunately there simply isn't enough information. He hasn't revealed anything that even hints at what he might be thinking. That can be the hardest part to deal with. The not knowing. From your perspective this came totally out-of-the-blue. Whatever happened is known only to him.

Since that's the case, it can be worse than useless to focus on the "why." That's when you start finding (inventing) reasons to explain this inexplicable bahavior. Maybe you came on too strong? Maybe you misinterpreted his level of interest? Maybe you shouldn't have done this or that. ALL of that is bullshit.

What ends up happening is: You simply 'decide' that this guys behaviour is the result of whatever personal insecurities happen to worry about. If you're a woman who worries guys don't think you're attractive... you'll decide that's why he stopped texting. If you worry that guys might think you're dumb... you'll decide that's why he stopped texting you. etc.

So, all you end up doing is feeling worse about whatever you already feel most insecure about. But it doesn't reflect reality. It's nothing more than a 'guess.' But it's worse. Because it reconfirms your own worst fears about yourself (when it comes to dating). Try and avoid focusing on the "why." You just don't know. You CAN'T ever know. It's normal to think about this. You can't help it. I get that. I'm just saying... avoid assuming you know what is going on in his head. That's just harmful to you.

Now, what should you do?

Well, I don't know if there is really anything you can do.

It really depends on what exactly you man by "stopped texting."

If you mean: "You texted him a few days ago, and he never replied"...

That is very different from "he is clearly not replying to your repeated, obvious attempts to get ahold of him"

I have been assuming it's the latter. If that's the case, (where it is clear that he is PURPOSEFULLY choosing to not reply to you), then there's nothing you can do. The guy is being a jerk. You can't really do anything, if someone is willing to be rude like that.

If this is just a situation where he hasn't replied to you. My suggestion is to text him again. 🙂

Why would he need to give you a reason after going on four dates? Things fizzled out, you became annoying, or maybe there was a red flag you let be known without realizing it. Nothing he says is going to provide you with closure, nor will it make you feel better.

There could be any number of reasons why. But sometimes answers just leads to more questions.

Personally, I'd just move on from him. If he isn't mature enough to be upfront about why he no longer wants contact with you , then he deserves your silence too.

Even if he gave you an answer, you may not believe him. Or if you do, the truth may affect you even more. So I'd just let it go.

If I were you I would go on other dates. it sounds like it was casual to him and perhaps he didn't want to deal with emotional baggage from your past relationship. I would leave it alone and talk to other guys.

Let's start out with a question. Was he the type to call when he wanted to communicate while you were the type to text when you wanted to communicate and you said you prefer text? That would be the end of it for me.

Have you messaged and not received a response or he hasn’t messaged you first? I would just message and see if they are ok as something may have happened. If you can see they’ve read messages then definitely forget him and move on, same if he doesn’t reply.
