Why is it ok for a guy to chase a girl but not the other way around?

Why do people think only a guy has to do the chasing? If he doesn't then he's not interested?

So I want to know from the guys here, if a guy shows interest in the beginning continously and does the chasing, can the girl do the chasing after that?

If I don't do a little chasing then I tend to not consider her for anything other than fun time.

Once she agrees to date though, roles need to reverse and girl needs to start chase in my opinion. (They usually push for commitment)
