Where could I find someone who's also introverted and a homebody like me?

I feel like the obvious answer is online dating, but that's all gone downhill, with most dating apps being hook-up focused, or entirely inactive.

Besides, I'd like to meet someone local, if I can. But how do you find someone who also would rather stay inside and watch a movie or play a game? How do you find a partner who doesn't like going out in public?

If you made bad experiences with dating sites, there are not many other options for you.

Besides bars, clubs and the like, you may want to consider joining a club, take a hobby where you can meet people with similar interests.

If you are good at one specific occupation, then see if you can find a place where others meet that share that passion. The rest will just fall automatically into place. Sharing the same interests with a person is always a good start to get to know that person better because you have common grounds.

But you have to work on yourself first. That would include shyness and social anxiety.

You can train your approach, your attitude and expression in front of a mirror for example. Think of what message you want to bring across and rehearse it until you are satisfied. The next step is the most difficult one and that is the one where you have to put in practice what you learned and rehearsed.

But without you wanting and acting upon it, nothing will ever happen. You have to get out of your comfort zone for it to happen. The most important is not to be afraid to fail. If you are rejected, get back onto your feet and try again.

I am similar. But the irony is that I don’t like going out and I’m content at home - to find someone to come out is a bit contradictory and humoring. It’s hard to ask a introvert (that’s what I am) to hang or visa versa - of course once you are both mutually comfortable to hang out respectfully. Going to board game clubs and bars are incredibly uncomfortable 😣
I find myself saying heck with it and just nestle into my comfort of prior to my efforts.
Solitude is far more cozy and relaxing and inviting than being either in a social environment or being in a one on one with someone who is pushy and needy that as bizarre likes. Socializing has got to be the most useless thing I’ve ever had to try to get used to that I simply have no desire for.
Perhaps get a rat (get two because they need a friend of their own species when they aren’t with you) or a dog or cat?

Introverts can't meet introverts because that would require them to go against their nature. If you want to meet an introvert you have to meet them through the few friends they have. So you have to go to online places where they hangout and you should be glad if 10% is women in those groups and those are the geekiest of them all and she has her geek boyfriend already. So yeah you got everything against you, you need to learn to socialize if you want a girlfriend.

Maybe the library or a bookstore. I'm an introvert and those are my go to places when I don't want to be bothered by people and I can just sit down relax and read a good book.

A coffee shop would be another good place but much harder to make conversation vs. the library or bookstore where you can ask them what they are reading or what books would they recommend as a conversation starter.

Maybe at school or work? Just get to know people talk to them and find someone who has the same interests and personality type as you do.

It's tricky because all those ladies will be mostly at home just like you and we can't just go break in.
