When you go over to a dates place for the first time do you expect it to look clean? Is it a red flag if it's messy?

A little mess is fine. But I’m a clean freak. So it will bother me a bit but if he’s an awesome person, I’d be able to look past that. Hell I’ll even clean up his house 🤣 when we get comfortable later… Jk

No need to hide the way one lives so the first thing I do is “go walk around upstairs too…look around.”
What you see is what you get. Sliding glass 8-10ft closet doors are left cracked purposefully etc.

First thing current girl did was hit the kitchen and check every cabinet out. Rubbed her hand down wall convection oven and oven/stove. Worked for me…

i dont expect it to be super orderly and everything cause guys tend to have messy ass rooms. if its actually dirty though that will lower my interest in the dude and maybe even flat out disgust me of him if its filthy

Some clutter is ok, I myself am messy too. But leaving dirty dishes out for days to grow mold, never taking the trash out, or typical hoarding behavior is a red flag though

The messiness in the image I would be a huge relief, as our rooms would be twins. Only time the messiness would be a problem, is if they turn out to be an extreme hoarder and their messiness looks like this.

I'd prefer it to look the way it usually does. But now I've never dated someone - I didn't know, I'd never date someone with a messy place, since I like clean spaces and prefer someone who does so too.

I'm not expecting a perfect place. A can/bottle or two, some trash that didn't get thrown away, or wires being a bit of a mess are perfectly fine. The problem comes when you have clothes strewn all over the place, there's moldy dishes sitting on the table/desk, and there isn't a place to sit.

If I go to a babe's place and she is a slob, it is a smoking red flag of things to come. If you can't keep your house in order, you most likely have nothing else in order.

It depends on how messy. Like I understand a few candy wrappers here and there, pizza slice in the couch from last night, floor not vaccummed.. but if rats live there? Yikes
