He calls me a hoe during arguments?

We've only been together for six months and have only gotten into 2 BIG fights that came along with name calling. Both fights he called me a slut, whore, thot , anything to do with being promiscuous. I don't know why he feels that way but he's also been accusing me of sleeping multiple guys. I don't know why he would think that other than two reasons. Our first date and his ex. He had a long relationship with his ex a year ago but after so long of him cheating on her, she left him from another guy blindsided and got pregnant by the other guy shortly. Our first date we had sex. It wasn't a good idea but it was his choice. We had a few arguments at first but nothing bad like that was ever said. But our first big fight he repeatedly called me a hoe non stop. This first argument was uncalled for and still to this very day I have no idea how that argument got started and what I did to make him worked up. The second fight (week ago) he called me a dumb hoe and that im sleeping around with tons of other men. I've always heard the saying what people say out of anger in an argument is usually how they truly feel about you. could this be how he truly feels?
