He was physically abusing her and probably more. I called the cops and then drove away. I was not on leisure time. Not sure if they ever found them and did anything. It was also my first time waiting for the cops to answer. Took like 3 or 4 minutes. I wasn't from the area.
You did the right thing. But if he was getting physical with her and maybe was an immediate threat maybe you should of intervened?
I get it the risks of doing that: things could of gotten very violent, she might insanely turned on the Good Samaritan, etc. Battered women can unfortunately act really stupid. However I have seen men get really mouthy and threatening towards woman. I usually walk up to them and the guy always starts to tone it down.
Anyway I have never seen a man hit a woman in public. Never in my life have I seen that. But if he did I would immediately react and go after him. But usually it’s a tough call if he’s just being loud and threatening towards her.

Yea man. You absolutely did the right thing. If you were unable/unwilling to intervene then calling the cops was for sure the right move. If a guy was abusing his girl THAT bad IN PUBLIC, that's a legitimately dangerous situation that probably needs the cops. That guy has clearly lost-his-shit... because he would KNOW someone was bound to call the cops... but was so out-of-control he's doing it anyway.
I’d have sent them the footage if I had a camera. Definitely taken note of the descriptions of the persons to pass on as well. You did the right thing. Not much else you could do. It’s their investigation after the info gets passed over no longer your burden.
Honestly, I probably would've stuck around or kept close to them until the cops showed up. Just in case they needed an additional witness for the report or help finding the couple.

I’m sure some people will say you should’ve stepped in and been a hero but calling the police was the exact right thing to do. It’s in their hands now. Plus, there are times when the abused stays with the abuser and even attacks the person trying to help her and DEFENDS the abuser. It’s likely not the first time she’s been attacked by him if it’s a domestic violence situation.
The cops did nothing. Guaranteed. But you did the right thing. You did something about it, but didn't try to be a hero. There's nothing else you could've done, unless you want to get in a brutal fight over someone you don't even know
If you call the cops you should also stay put. If you don't care enough to actually talk to the cops in person then it's better to not call. You are the observer, you can follow what happens.
you did what you could do.
Most people would either video it and post it online, or do nothing.
Good job! That was thoughtful of you and I'm sure shee appreciated it. 🙂
You at least did something dude, most people would've walked passed her
hitting her seriously in public? good call bud, unless she was hitting him too.
That’s all you could of done. You think you could of gotten involved? Maybe you’re the one who the guy would of abused had you gotten involved
