Why do I get no dms on Instagram despite having a decent following when all the other girls I know are always bombarded with requests from cute guys?

I’m decently pretty with 800 followed which is decent for a high schooler and my account is public. I get a few dms but only from guys who mass dm very girl in school in hopes a response. The only cute guys I get dms from are guys I told I found them cute and either way they end up talking to like 100 other girls of something which just makes me give up

My friends are always getting dms from cute guys who are super into them daily but I barley get anything and when I do it’s because I go on those dumb apps like wizz (basically a teen dating app which is insanely embarrassing to have) which barley even counts because it shows your desperate and I’m always the one imitating.

The traps I’m so caught up on social media is because no guys are ever interested in me in real life and social media is basically where everyone gets guys if you’re not irl friends. I never get approached in public either and I go out all the time so Instagram is basically my only choice

I don’t think it’s flex. I feel as a virgin with no experience relationship wise beyond dates Id like my first relationship to be with someone who's similar to me. Beyond a first relationship I don't think it matters but dating some guy who's had a ton of exs wouldn't be comfortable for me knowing I've had none. As I get older the number of inexperienced guys decreases meaning I need to find someone soon or else I'm more likely to end up in an uncomfortable first relationship

Yeah I liked this guy and went up to him everyday , started conversation. My teacher and friend made fun of me for it until I stopped. Now it’s just really awkward with him and we don’t speak. The guys I know aren’t interested in me and either way they aren’t my type which is why I tend to hope hold hope for guys online. Considering both of the dates I did go on we’re both guys I met online they just didn’t last because either I wasn’t or we both weren’t feeling the connection.
