Why dump someone then stalk them (not online, in person)?

Guy who really made a mess of things and dumped me for another woman (or said they were to manipulate me and see if I would go crazy for them) is now kind of stalking me.

For some reason, the market he works at is now closed. I sat to have a drink outside my building before going in, then lo and behold he appears on the cafe patio across the street.

I went in. I looked out my window and, like a ghost, he disappeared.

Then I came home from picking up my kid and doing some groceries.

I look out my window a lot because my area is lively and there's always some fracas going on.

So again I see him leaving said café when he was never even really around there that much.

He is making it obvious that he is basically watching my comings and goings.

Oh and he sent me some lame text from a different number that I just ignored and didn't even make the effort to block. I blocked him since day 1.

If I have ever dumped someone it was done. What is the mindset of someone who keeps tabs on someone they left?

Well in 99.99% of cases stalking ain't rational. So don't expect to make sense. All ya really need to concern yourself with is he dangerous or not.

Who knows? A week ago he ran away from me when we crossed oaths now he is sitting outside my house basically all day.
