So I've had a first date with a match on hinge yesterday.
a lot of things went wrong. I could tell when she first saw me she looked a bit disappointed. She was dressed up and I dressed casual in Tshirt and jeans.
She was in a hurry to get a drink.
I don't drink and didn't expect to drink so that caught her off guard.
I didn't know dinner for first date is no no
She was irritated that we had to wait for a table to clear (10mins) probably I assume is because she wanted to get out of there.
Once we sat down she immediately mentioned that she has to meet her friends tonight.
After we talked and it went okay. Ordered drinks and food. I barely drank though.
I could tell she lost interest from the start and I was gradually losing interest towards the end.
When we finished eating and she finished her drink she asked for the bill. I paid for it because she did take a Uber out to meet me.
She said she ordered an Uber and she then became glued to her phone during the entire wait not saying a word (felt like 10-15minutes)
I walked her to her Uber, she hugged me and said nice to meet me and we said our byes.
As I was walking towards my car I deleted her name off my contacts and had a feeling she's going to delete me off hinge so I opened her profile up and locked my phone.
Drove home and when I unlocked my phone it opened up to my match page which meant she unmatched me during her Uber ride.
It hurts but it is what it is. I texted her and thanked her for her time and wished her the best. No reply. Not really expecting one.
But I can't stop thinking of why would someone unmatch you immediately after a date whether it went good or bad. Me personally, I unmatch people if they provoke a really strong emotion out of me like if I'm offended. On top of that, our chat was in the hidden section. Hinge has a feature where it hides chats that hasn't been active for 2 weeks and moves it to the very bottom. Like she would really need to go out of her way to remove me.
