Why are old people so delusional when it comes to large age gap relationships?

Anonymous

A lot of old people seem to be very delusionally confident in large age gap relationships. Just because things are working out when you're 45 and they're 25, it doesn't mean things will work out when you're 60 and they're 40. Just imagine being so young and full of energy and life at 40 being married to a 60 yr old senior citizen on the brink of retirement. Do you really think your young 40 yr old spouse still at their prime in life will still want to be with you?

If you're 45 and you don't want to date a senior citizen, what makes you think your much younger spouse would be happy to be stuck married to a grandpa or grandma?
