It's okay to ask but consider your objective before you ask. What is it you're trying to learn and in the back of your mind are you really trying to say "you work too much" or is there another more real reason: you want him to spend more time with you or you want him to be less tired? Consider also, how his answer will impact you and what you plan to do with the answer. What if the extra hours are his way to earn promotion -- what do you say then? If your intent is to ask him to work less, consider carefully why you're asking and what that'll mean to him.

So, full circle: yes, totally okay to ask, but make sure you're asking the right question for the right reasons.

Some of us are workaholics..

And depending on our jobs some of us need to keep going until we finish it especially if it is some sort of prototype or something that will better the world

But there are the fake workaholics they work 9 to 5:00 but then they go and work on drinking about 10 beers before they go home I hope you have the first two not the third one

No offense but in this economy why is that even a question? If he wants to be able to live on his own and afford these things that are only getting more expensive, it must be done. My boyfriend goes to work at 10am, gets off at 11pm.

That's true.. but sometimes I think of a lot of the things he's missing while he's still young because he's busy working 😞

I know it can suck sometimes, there’s plenty of things I’d like to do with my boyfriend where he’s not available to go because he’s working. But it’s what I signed up for, like I knew already he worked crazy hours. He tried to make time for me and do things when he can though, so that effort makes up for it. With your boyfriend, maybe you can try and make the most of his time off. But working less is hard to do, the cost of living right now is outrageous.

I think most people in the US work long hours , and he is young its the time to do it. Sure ask if you want? But what do you want from him? You want him to sit around smoke weed and watch movies or something?

The guy is trying to earn a living , I always worked more than one job when I was young at times I had 3 jobs.

Yeah that’s fine. If you think he’s working so much he’s not enjoying himself, you’re not spending enough time together, or he’s not getting enough downtime, you can ask if he’s happy with that or not.
