Why do ugly guys shoot their shot?

There’s this new girl at work that a lot of the guys have been talking to. I noticed that whenever we get a new girl at work this happens and it also happened when I first started but I’ll use the new girl as an example.

I’ve known the new girl since we were little though and we are close friends so she tells me everything. she's really pretty and she’s been telling me that the guys who work with us have been asking her out. She already went on a date with one guy (who isn’t attractive in my opinion) we work with and the date went left and they stopped seeing each other. She told me he lied about being a virgin. Other guys have been asking her out and she told me the names and the guys are not attractive at all. One of the guys just got married to a girl two weeks ago and was asking her out. These guys wouldn’t even look right standing beside her.

I think she can decide that for herself and as she already went on a date with someone you see as unattractive, I think you two differ on what is unattractive.
Always remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Both you and she are unattractive in some people's eyes, much like these men are in yours.
Would you not try to date someone just because someone else thinks you're ugly?
The only opinion of any importance is the opinion of the one you want to date.

There are more not good looking guys than hot guys. Either a woman goes out with a not attractive guy that has good sides in other areas or she stays single and childless in her 30s. Because if a hot guy isn´t asking her out she´s not attractive enough for him.
Ugly guys shoot their shot because they might want a relationship and that´s the only way. Because they know they are not that good looking they have to ask out more girls than a guy that seems hot.

the ugliest guy i've ever seen, ended up marrying the most beautiful girl I've ever seen here. He had a face like a blobfish, but he did run track. He was nice though and had a good sense of humor and personality. He wasn't a douchebag gym bro like her boyfriend in high school. So no reason people shouldn't try to get with someone they find attractive. Besides, it's the only way they'll find out if the "good looking person" is a stuck-up snobby bitch or not. 🤣
