As in: you see on tinder a girl you like, no match, so you look for her on social media and if you can find her based on any information she has on her profile write to her that you saw her on tinder and would like to go on a date.
asking this because it happened to me, I find it creepy as hell and something only a stalker would do but more than one friend told me they find it cute.
That's why is Called Social Media! Any Personal Data means anyone can see details about you.. Tinder, Bumble, Match. com, and 1000's more when you create account and set up profile the mistake that people do they LINK their social accounts with it THINKING is easier to Set up instead of a Full APPART registration, so ofcourse on your profile my come up your IG/FB accounts, so its easier for another person (stalker) to find you...🤷♂️. Once you put that (blue print) on there it will remain there, even if you Delete Account!
Many does this. Men and women, it's just too easy to get away with, so most can't resist.
A few years ago it was overall considered a really bad move to scope people out. Now-a-days though, I see it's used widely like it's just commonplace.
Most don't get in contact though, they just dream and gossip. Some stratergize and a few stumble into their DMs.
This happens to me all the time. Guys from Tinder or Bumble will message me on Instagram when they see we didn’t match on the dating app (s). Personally I don’t have an issue with it aside from just thinking something like ‘if I didn’t match with you, that means I’m not interest so why would you think that that’ll change if you message me on a different platform?’ and being slightly annoyed. When this happens, I just never respond. I can see how some other people might find it creepy or problematic.
Seeing as only an idiot puts their full name on dating sites that means the person had their social media account information in their profile or linked as I believe some dating sites let you nowadays
Either way if social media info was in profile or linked to your profile you invited this to happen
Use your brain & don't put personal information out there. About as stupid as adding your phone number in your dating profile for all to see

I think it's absolutely okay if she puts her social media on her dating profile. To me, that is an invitation. She'll say something like "here's my instagram/snapchat/whatever" and usually something else like "I'm never on this app" so it's an open invite.

I don't know that it's "cute", and if you didn't put any info on your dating profile with your social media info, yeah I can see how that would be a bit shocking to have someone contact you out of nowhere.
But then again, this is that day and age. I kind of expect to get contacted by randoms every once in a while, and if I were a woman I would expect it a lot more. I think true creepy level would be if they showed up to my work or some other place in person. I would defo get stalker vibes from that and be unsettled.
It depends, if you put our social media name on the profile, that means you don’t mind people looking up your profile there. But if they just search by your name then it’s creepy
I think it shows that they're really interested. I agree, it's cute. When you're on social media you open the door to that kinda thing.

I don't think there's anything inherently creepy about that, it entirely depends on how they approach you, like, what the message is they send you.
Why put your social media on your dating app in the first place?
There's really nothing wrong with that. You're still free to reject him if it doesn't work for you.
When girls do it.. Is because the guy looks like a model.. fit and all and the guy is minus -10 and 0verweight or something..
When even high value men do it.. you’ll get ghosted..
I don't use dating apps or social media except Twitter to s*** post.
If you’re wanting to avoid things like that on social media, don’t be on social media
I know plenty of people who have used social media to scope out the person they're interested in before asking them out.
