Ex blocked me after I didn't reply to his damn message. Is he punishing me?

He also sent me a message in instagram last week, since I didn’t reply right away he deleted his whole Instagram account. A day later, he sent me a text in WhatsApp, since I didn’t reply right away, he deleted the message and also my contact. Hours later I stupidly asked him what happened and he just ignored me and then blocked me.

I was really anxious. 2 days later I sent him a message thinking I was still blocked but the message went trough (unfortunately). He replied saying that he never texted (that’s a lie) and that he just doesn’t like to have people on his block list and that’s why he unblocked me.

I never replied and I just need to block him soon but I’m wondering if he is still trying to control my emotions or why they do that?

He deleted the Instagram message after 10 minutes and the Whatssapp message after 1 hour.
