To be clear these are men who I am mutuals with meaning we are both following each other but I post and they’ve haver shown interest / dmed me first. My friends say I should just wait for a man to message me first but often times they are unattractive to me and generally I don’t get dms at all.
I don’t want to seem desperate or get rejected but I also deep down am desperate, I want an attractive boyfriend and i genuinely don’t believe they’ll (at least these specific men) and possibly other attractive men will message me first. I also don’t want to have to tell my friends if I do dm first I’d look be made fun of.
What should I do, is it worth message first even if I could get embarrassed and rejected?

None of the guys I have any real life connection to are my type. All my friends are women who also only have female friends
