It's like the emotional equivalent of jumping into the deep end to see if it helps you forget about the fact you can't swim. Not the best idea, but sometimes, it's just the human way of coping.

First up, the feels. Rebounding can be a whirlwind of emotions. Initially, it might feel great. You're getting attention, affection, and maybe even a little bit of an ego boost after feeling rejected or down from your previous relationship.

But then, the complexities start to seep in. You might start comparing your new partner to your ex, even without meaning to. Thoughts like, "Oh, my ex used to do this differently," or "They don't get me like my ex did," might pop up. It's like your emotional GPS is still set to your past relationship, and now you're just taking a detour.

There's also this nagging feeling of not being entirely genuine. It's not that you don't like or care about this new person; it's just that the foundation of this budding romance is a bit shaky. It's built on the need to fill a void rather than a genuine connection.

The aftermath can go a few ways. It's rare, but hey, stranger things have happened. More often, though, once the initial excitement wears off and you start healing from your previous relationship, you might realize that this new connection doesn't quite fit. It's like wearing someone else's glasses; sure, you can see, but everything's a bit off.

Emotionally, it can be draining. You're dealing with the remnants of your past breakup while trying to navigate a new relationship, and that's a lot for anyone to handle.

In the grand scheme of things, rebounding is like a temporary fix—a plaster on a wound that needs stitches. It might hold for a bit, but it's not a solution. The best way to move on from a relationship is to take time for yourself, heal, and then, when you're ready, start fresh with someone new, without the shadow of your ex looming in the background.

So, if you're thinking of rebounding or find yourself in the midst of it, remember to check in with yourself and your feelings. After all, the most important relationship you'll ever have is the one with yourself. Get that one right, and everything else will start to fall into place.

If you just got out of a relationship with someone and then jump into a relationship right away with someone new, then that’s rebounding , you aren’t really over your ex , you haven’t given yourself time to heal and to erase them from your memory , you think you did , but you didn’t , why rebounding is not a good thing in most cases. But sometimes it can work depending on the chemistry and connection you share with that new person But the truth is you really haven’t healed yourself from your ex and you are afraid to be alone , so you latch on to someone new thinking they will be better than your ex not realizing you are only infatuated by this new person , but you really don’t know that much about them , it can be a matter of time before that new person’s true colors shine , or could be a matter of time before your true colors shine , Since you are a girl , my advice to you is to not talk about your ex to your new partner , Most men hate when a girl talks about her ex like he was this amazing person on her life , it kills a guys’ ego and can make him start losing interest in you , So never really talk about your ex , unless you are questioned by him about him other than that exempt your ex from your life the best you can

I think most people don’t even know they are necessarily rebounding until they realize they can’t tune into the present with someone new. That can take some time for someone to come to that realization and I think it’s worse when the rebounding partner caters to that and doesn’t openly question the person that just got out of the relationship

I've never done it. So I wouldn't know for sure. But I would feel like I used that person.
