Does confidence really make a average looking guy more attractive to women?

well confidence can result in you standing straighter, so good posture, a confident walk. Then there is the confidence to look at a girl without being all thirsty and just appraise how she looks and indicate back you like how she is. Then you have confidence in what comes out of your mouth, or more importantly the confidence to stay quiet, listen with both ears and observe her, then speak. It’s how you use the confidence that is often more important than simply being confident.

Depends

If the man is not my type at all physically , then no amount of confidence or charisma can make me get into a relation with him

For example, personally I prefer guys who are a bit muscly

So if a skinny guy approaches me I'll have to reject him politely

The confidence improves your looks. No, I wouldn't date a guy I wasn't attracted to. But I have had the experience of finding a guy attractive after getting to see he had a really good personality and sense of self-worth.
