How long does it take for men to know if they want to be officiall?

I met this guy in the end of August 2023 we started talking a lot more on new years and he said he wanted to get to know me better the end of February. He has gotten a lot busier now that our semester has picked up but I go to see him about once a week. We hung out chatting and watching tv twice over the last month and I chill with him at his work sometimes. I am cerious to know a guy’s timeline typically because I have heard mixed things. Ik I like him and would want to date but no clue what he is thinking or how much time he needs.

Guys aren't complex. if he's spending a lot of time with you, your already dating. What your asking is, to my guy ears is, when should you know if he's thinking of you as a serious long term prospect?

In general, a guy can get more serious with a girl at any speed depending on the guy; However, most guys won't be ready to be very serious with a girl until they have known them for at least 6 to 12 months. If the guy is seeking out your company, as a more exclusive thing, then likely he's already keen for something more serious (for it to be official). If he is getting jealous of you spending time with other guys, this can be a sign to consider it becoming serious [depending on the guy] (some guys are just jealous always and like to keep a practical hareme of girls 'into them', usually the very attractive ones who find girls just go gooey for them without their effort).

Very good looking guys tend to bounce about a lot and not want to be tied down, where as more average guys tend to not really get involved at all until their already quite seriously like a girl.

I guess one universal is older guys usually want to be more serious more quickly.

Normally within 3 to 6 months men know they want to get official with that person or not and if he wants to get official after that he starts taking some serious steps to know you more better, know this relationship more better, could this relationship would survive or not etc. And within a year he gets absolutely confirmed and confident that yes he wants this girl in his life or no I don't want her.

But this is case when the guy really want to have serious stable relationship. But one who never ever think about getting settled they never think over this, they just keep getting relationship for his then needs but always avoid commitment. They will keep saying no I'm not ready etc keep making excuses. But only would keep you in relationship forever as long as he can.

Even if guy isn't ready yet to get married but the one who is serious would start thinking about a life with you, the future with you, and for that he would be working seriously hard so that sooner he could take you in and get settled with you. You could see seriousness in his efforts afterwards.

If he wants you really, he wouldn't keep you single. If he isn't asking you to date even then you are not the one. Because keeping you single means giving opportunity to others guy and he can't risk of losing you and you falling in love with that another guy.
